San Francisco
Posts:
It’s hard for me to start to describe how much and exactly what I love about San Francisco. I have lived here for 4 years and continue to try new things as well as frequent the places I love. I have a great friends, my neighborhood is central and right by the Painted Ladies (or the “Full House Houses” as many tourists know them), and I love that no matter where you are you are never a short walk/run/drive from the water. This city has great restaurants, vintage charm and each neighborhood has a personality and is worth visiting.
While it is near impossible to list all the highlights, I’ve started below with things that pop to mind, in no particular order:
Experiences:
- Bay to Breakers
- Fleet Week
- The Farmer’s Market at the Ferry Building
- Being on the bay – sailing/ferry/anything
- The walk out to the Golden Gate Bridge and Fort Point once you get there
- Driving through the Presidio stopping at Baker Beach
- The view from the tower of the de young museum
- Driving over the Golden Gate Bridge
Restaurants:
- Range
- Universal Cafe for brunch
- NOPA
- Uva Enoteca
- Pizzeria Delfina
- flour + water
- Beretta
- Suppenkuche
- The Cliff House - specifically for the view ~ Also highly recommend walking from there out on the Land’s End trail and finishing with drinks outside at Park Chalet
- El Farolito in the Mission for burritos (Mexican in the Mission in general)
- Rosamunde sausages – original in the Lower Haight or restaurant in the Mission
- Cha Cha Cha – this will get scoffed at, but it’s great for groups and they have fabulous plantains with black back beans and jerk chicken
Bars:
- Mad Dog in the Fog - just because it’s my local spot
- Smuggler’s Cove
- 15 Romolo
- The Redwood Room
- Zeitgeist on a nice day (620Jones has great outdoor space too)
- Club Deluxe - great late night Jazz/bluegrass and pizza!
- Rickhouse
- Mojo Cafe
